Marketing's Misunderstanding
First of all, I believe that the average size of a chip bag should be more than 1 oz. and more along the lines of 5 oz. Second of all, whoever thought that 'fun-sized' should be smaller thought wrong. When I think 'fun-sized' I think 'lotsa fun.' Fun-sized should probably be between regular and King sized candy bars, maybe even bigger. One thing they've gotten right is Town & Country's 64 oz purchase for 20 cents less than a normal 20 oz bottle of soda. Right on. I also believe that cans of coke should be upgraded from 12 oz to 20 oz immediately, because when I purchase a canned beverage, I believe it should last longer than a few seconds, but more a long the lines of four and one-half minutes. If they think want to be able to sell more products in a smaller space of time, they should hire Billy Mays to do their commercials, because everyone knows Billy Mays. Therefore, both the companies and Billy Mays will benefit.

Blind, but Expected
I always wondered how certain people could be in a situation and not see what's happening, especially when the problem is obvious. Now I know how easy it is to be that person who doesn't see what's happening. I can't believe how blind I can be at times. I try to believe in the best of people, but it appears to be to the point of being naive. I grew up learning to be the kid who learned his manners, did the good deeds, and put others before himself, so I just thought everyone else was that way, too. Nowadays, I know that not everyone is good, but some people make mistakes. Others choose to make those decisions, though.
It's really hard to learn something about someone, especially if it's someone you hold in high respect, that you really didn't think they'd do. I, like always, just thought that this person was a good, honorable person who strived to prevent making decisions that aren't classified as good. When I first heard about it, I thought they mentioned someone else, but then I realized it was actually that person whom I respected.
After a few experiences this year, I've wanted to be given the ability to see through things and beneath the surface of other things. I wish I wasn't so blind at times. I speak highly of these people only to find out they aren't anything like what I thought. It's disappointing to go for such a long time of being friends with someone just to find out you don't really know that person at all.
Don't be blind. Think thoroughly about things and actually open up and talk to the person so you can find out who they are.

A Fact about Opinions
Opinions can change a person's mind, whether easily or over a long period of time. Some people don't realize that their opinions can really affect someone's feelings. Of course, there are always those people who don't care whether or not you want to listen to them or not, thus resulting in them giving you their opinion on a matter. Then you have the people who believe that their opinion is so right that it should be considered a fact.
Even small things such as the type of food someone eats or how they eat it can affect someone, especially if they constantly hear it. For example, I was making a hamburger and was putting on my normal portion of pepper, when three people consecutively commented on how gross and nasty that was. That is definitely not something that makes someone feel better about what they do. Even if all they thought they were doing was making a comment, they still gave unwanted opinions. They're aren't the ones eating the burger, I am. Their negative thoughts caused feelings of discontent about how I eat my burger.
Sure, the burger example may be silly, but it can go on the be an even greater series of events. Think before you speak. Then think again just to make sure. Don't give an opinion that someone else doesn't really need or hasn't asked for.

I Hate Hypocrisy
The title speaks for itself. I'm sick and tired of it. People constantly show this characteristic daily and become very irate when you tell them about it, too. What's even worse is that some people don't even realize they are doing it, and those that do don't really seem to care. Apparently, they believe that the actions are wrong if others do them, but can find any and every exception when they themselves do them. Sure, it's not fair, but that doesn't mean people have to do it all the time. I know life's not fair, but why isn't it ever fair in my favor? Who knows. All I know is that I do what I can to make sure my actions don't contradict what I say or believe. If I do, I'm sorry.

What Are People Thinking These Days?
People have become so strangley crazy in their behavior lately. Just the other day, I was sitting in front of WalMart waiting on someone, and I was shocked at all of the parking lot behavior I saw. There was one guy who was wanting to turn into a lane that was headed the other direction, and was impatiently waiting for everyone to clear out of his way so he could go down that lane. In anger, he peeled out and went the right way. It's as if people don't read or care or both anymore. People are constantly parking in the Handicapped areas that are in excellent health, while the handicapped people have to park even further away. People are also parking in places that aren't parking places, especially the walkways for pedestrians. And what's worse is that the authorities don't do anything about it. They say they can't, but they can! What's the point of enforcing rules if no one's going to follow them or enforce them? It's just like I've heard before, "Locks aren't just there to prevent theifs from getting in, but honest people from getting out."

The Power of Lies
Lies are a powerful thing, whether small or large. You tell a lie, then you have to tell another one to cover it up, and then you have a snowball effect. Lies do nothing but get someone in trouble, whether it's you later or someone else.
Can you imagine what it would be like to admire someone so much and follow what they say because they are so powerful in their opinion, and then one day you discover that they really didn't believe what they were saying? All that time spent following that person, just to find out they were lying for some sick reason. That could ruin someone quickly. For example, (not personally), let's say that someone is preaching about his religion. Let's say this someone has been doing so since he was 4. He became a fairly famous pastor over the years, and drew in big crowds to all the churches he had been preaching at and then when he was in his late 30's to early 40's, he told everyone that it had all been a hoax. He didn't believe a word that he was preaching. Several people that followed him began to wonder what to do since they had been so devoted to a liar. See how messed up lying can be?
Tell the truth.

Life is Better on the Other Side of the Opinion
Day by day I come across people who put on a mask for someone who is present, and then remove it when they leave. I witness the lies and deception that people spread about someone when he or she isn't there. It only makes me wonder if I fall under the same category, either as the liar or the deceived. I do my best to catch myself talking about someone else when they aren't there and I usually don't because it's wrong, but it IS difficult. I have to go by the fact that I see people do this, so it probably means they do it to me as well. Even though those people may do it, doing it back isn't going to help anything.
The other day someone (who people make fun of constantly and see as a crime to speak to) came by and asked me if I could help them with something. I responded, "sure" and did. When I came back, someone else in the room asked me why on earth I would do something like that. That made me irate because it's not fair for everyone to mistreat someone. It's as if they don't give that person a chance to prove who they can be. I don't know if it's because they just don't want to take the time to help that person or if it's just because they don't care, but one person helping that one person takes too long, and sometimes it's too late.
All I'm saying is that we should be more careful about what we say and be less swift to judge someone, especially without a chance. Even if that person does make some mistakes, it doesn't hurt to still try and focus on the positive aspects of that person, because there's always a chance to bring that person back with enough time and hope.
Just try it.
